La casa de papel (International title: Money Heist, literal translation: The House of Paper) is a Spanish heist television series created by Álex Pina for Antena 3. The show is a limited series that aired for one season in two parts. It premiered on May 2, 2017 and ended on November 23, 2017. The show stars Úrsula CorberóPaco Tous, and Alba Flores. On Dec. 25, the first part of season 1 was added to the international Netflix catalog but the season was re-edited into 13 episodes instead of the original amount of 9 episodes.

 

 

Plot


A mysterious man, who goes by the name of El Profesor ("The Professor"), is planning the biggest heist ever told. In order to carry out the ambitious plan, he recruits a gang of eight people with certain abilities who have nothing to lose. The goal is to enter the Royal Mint of Spain so that they can print 2.4 billion euros. In order to do this, they need eleven days of seclusion, during which they will have to deal with sixty-seven hostages and the elite forces of the Police.

Netflix Release


Netflix had acquired the rights to stream the show and distributed the first part of the season on their streaming service on December 25th worldwide. It is only on Netflix Spain that both parts are available to stream. However instead of retaining the original number of 9 episodes and the 70 minute run time of each episode in the season, it was cut into 13 different untitled episodes. Each of the episodes had been limited to 40-50 minutes in length.

The show's complete season can be pre-ordered on the Spanish Amazon website from January 8th.[6]
